How to choose a kettlebell

A kettlebell's extended handle and offset weight suit swings, cleans, snatches, goblet squats and presses. Before buying a single bell or a kettlebell set, decide on:

• Weight. Many people start lighter to learn swing and clean technique, then move up as their form improves. Our single bells run from 2kg to 32kg, in 2kg steps up to 20kg and then 24kg, 28kg and 32kg.
• Single bells or a set. Our set includes 12kg, 16kg, 20kg and 24kg bells, which covers more than one user, or several stages as you get stronger. Single bells let you buy only the weights you need, such as a 16kg kettlebell or a 20kg kettlebell.
• Handle and finish. Both options have wide handles for a secure grip. The single bells have a black powder-coat finish with a slightly textured surface, and the set's bells share the same black powder-coat finish, with a flat base so they sit steady when put down.
• Material. Both are made from solid cast iron.

What weight kettlebell should I start with?

It depends on your experience and the exercise. Presses and one-arm work usually need a lighter bell than two-handed swings or deadlifts. If you are unsure, start lighter, focus on technique, and add heavier bells as you progress.

Kettlebell or dumbbell?
